How it works
Levington top soil is specially heat treated to be weed free. Rich, fertile soil that promotes healthy root growth. The different sized particles leave spaces in the soil for air and water to flow and roots to penetrate, feeding on the naturally occurring organic nutrients. Optimum drainage system prevents excess moisture. This top soil is ideal for levelling uneven beds and digging into existing soil to improve beds and borders.

How to use
This new Levington top soil is a super fine, deep rich, fertile soil with sand.
Use straight from the bag, it's as easy as that.
Use all round the garden
This peat free top soil is ideal for new beds and borders, filling raised beds, replacing old soil in beds and borders, levelling lawns and for laying turf. It has been created using solely organic ingredients including green compost that is great for promoting healthy root growth.
Beds and borders
Levington top soil can be mixed into soil which lacks the nutrients for plants to thrive. The top soil will revitalise tired soil, promoting growth.
Remove any weeds. Spread the top soil evenly over the soil surface to a depth of 5cm before planting. After planting, water thoroughly. Keeps plants well-watered until they are established.
Replacing sick soil
Where plants have suffered from disease in soil, Levington top soil replaces the soil by introducing a fresh, fertile soil in which plants can thrive.
Levelling lawns / laying turf
To make established laws level, simply fill in any hollows. You should apply a good quality lawn seed at the same time. Before laying turf, apply Levington top soil to the area to be turfed. Make sure the lawn is level. Water in well, especially near the joins to avoid the ends drying out. When sowing grass seed or laying turf, use a specially formulated lawn dressing.
Useful tips
Some plants are hungrier than others so may require feeding earlier. If leaves start to pale this is a sign to start feeding. Try to avoid plants drying out, and don't let them sit in water either, roots don't like being waterlogged. Sometimes you might see some white mould on your compost. This is not harmful to your plants and will disappear naturally.

We offer a free in-store collection facility whereby your goods can be ordered online and picked up at our Kirkmuirhill store. Please select "Click & Collect" at checkout. Our store is open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm, closed for lunch 12pm to 12.30pm.
Product Volumes
All products are allocated an approximate volumetric size for delivery, multiple small items will fit into a 25kg volume sized parcel whereas most compost and fertiliser bags are around 25kg volumetric size. Delivery pricing is based on volumetric size or weight, whichever is higher to meet courier specifications.

We do not include delivery prices in the product price, which allows us to keep product costs down.
